About The Position

The Head Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day operations, care, supervision, and safety of center children. This role involves developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum that fosters self-esteem and independence, addressing the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of each child. The Head Teacher ensures that health, safety, and nutritional education are integrated into the curriculum. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly classroom and playground environment. A key aspect of this role is demonstrating compassion and understanding towards children and families from diverse backgrounds. The Head Teacher must learn, implement, and ensure compliance with all licensing codes, funding requirements, tribal laws and regulations, and accreditation standards. This position also entails administering the overall operations of the classroom and supervising both children and staff. Furthermore, the Head Teacher is responsible for all required administrative paperwork, record-keeping, and data collection within their classroom.
