About The Position

The Head Teacher - Preschool position is located in Ansonia, CT. This role is responsible for implementing early childhood education principles and adhering to specific program standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree with an Early Childhood Teaching Credential.
• 2+ years of experience working with pre-school aged children.
• Knowledge of early childhood education.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards.
• Knowledge of School Readiness goals.
• Knowledge of Connecticut Early Learning and Development standards.
• Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid.
• Ability to see and read newsprint with or without corrective lenses.
• Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Use of arms, legs, and feet with or without corrective devices to accomplish the job.
• Ability to kneel, bend, and sit while interacting with children at floor level.
• Ability to function within guidelines of Agency’s core values and identification with Agency mission.
