About The Position

This is an extra duty position for a Head Swim Coach at Central High School. The primary function is to develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The position requires ensuring full compliance with all school and school board policies and regulations, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and community representatives, demonstrating professional growth, ensuring timely and accurate completion of records and reports, demonstrating proficiency in standard English, accepting and fulfilling responsibilities beyond the team setting, assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. The coach will foster and model positive interactions among student-athletes, build supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promote self-direction and self-motivation in students, and create clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. The role also involves exhibiting comprehensive knowledge of the sport, adapting instruction to student needs, developing and sustaining an organized athletic program with long-term planning, demonstrating effective planning and organization, employing diverse strategies and resources, clearly conveying fundamental coaching expectations, utilizing appropriate and varied coaching techniques, and maintaining an effective system for monitoring student progress.

Requirements

Prior coaching experience preferred.
