It also involves supporting screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of child development, and providing opportunities for parents and family members to engage in their child’s development and program services. The role requires following appropriate practices to keep children safe, complying with positive adult-child interactions, completing minimum training requirements, establishing regular communication with parents, and maintaining organized and compliant child files and documentation. The teacher will monitor the classroom for hazards and report incidents promptly. Other responsibilities include incorporating age-appropriate equipment and materials, responding to classroom observations by modifying teaching strategies, identifying potential interferences with a child’s development, participating in school functions and meetings, working collaboratively with staff and professionals, and maintaining confidentiality.
