About The Position
Ulster County Community Action Committee is hiring a part-time Teacher Aide (Center Aide for classroom support) in Kingston, NY. This role helps keep the classroom running smoothly and supports children’s learning by backing up the lead teacher.
Requirements
- Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive way
- Willingness to assist teacher direction and follow classroom procedures
- Comfortable with basic cleaning and tidying of the classroom
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Work with children in small groups or one-on-one as directed
- Help keep the classroom clean, organized, and ready for instruction
- Get the room set for the day—materials out, spaces straightened, and meals coordinated.
- Move between learning areas, helping children stay engaged and on track.
- Check in with the teacher throughout the day to adjust plans, support transitions, and keep the room orderly.
- Help reset the classroom so it’s ready for the next morning.
