About The Position

The Head Start Pathway Specialist works independently on comprehensive case management activities for families in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards. The position advises and assists individuals and families with a variety of issues and/or challenges through the Family Partnership and Agreement Plan. The Head Start Pathway Specialist creates, provides, and coordinates services and activities with families and communities that foster strength, healthy living, and overall well-being.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must obtain within eighteen (18) months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in Social Work, human services, family services, counseling or related field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of human services program management, including program planning, special needs programs, and utilizing community resources is required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • General understanding of community history, traditions, and beliefs is preferred.
  • Understanding of the causes and effects of poverty as they apply to early growth and family relations is preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet and e communications are highly preferred.
