About The Position

The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing according to each child’s needs and program requirements. The role focuses on preparing children for kindergarten and beyond through engaging learning experiences, care, classroom leadership, and communication with families. The Lead Teacher also mentors fellow teachers, implements curriculum, and ensures compliance with licensing guidelines, company standards, and Head Start program requirements. The position involves engaging in physical activity with children and working indoors or outdoors.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
• Experience leading a classroom and creating educational lesson plans.
• Ability to meet state education requirements and childcare center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, and instruct based on each child’s needs and program requirements.
• Develop fun, interactive learning experiences and mentor fellow teachers.
• Promote children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Lead classroom management and curriculum implementation.
• Maintain expertise in and comply with licensing guidelines, company standards, and Head Start program requirements.
• Build sincere relationships with enrolled and prospective families to promote children’s achievement and support center success.
