The Head Start Itinerant Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a curriculum that supports the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of children. This role involves preparing daily lesson plans aligned with Head Start educational guidelines, using diverse teaching techniques, and fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The teacher will conduct regular assessments, observe and document children's development, and create individualized progress plans for children with special needs in collaboration with staff and parents. Additionally, the position requires maintaining regular communication with parents, encouraging their participation, and conducting parent-teacher conferences and home visits. The teacher will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming classroom environment, ensuring health, safety, and nutritional requirements are met. Collaboration with Teacher Assistants, Family Advocates, and other Head Start staff is essential, as is attending professional development sessions. The role also involves maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with Head Start regulations and licensing requirements.
