About The Position

Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation, a Missouri Community Action Agency, is seeking a Head Start Center Operation Specialist. The Center Operations Specialist will have the primary responsibility for the general guidance and oversight of the Center's operation and the Center Directors by developing and maintaining professional relationships with center leadership and staff. Provide leadership and individualized support to center directors to maximize the director’s skills to in turn provide instructional support to their staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or higher in Early Childhood Development or a related field
  • A minimum of two years of related experience working with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reflective meetings with all Center Directors at least once a month, focusing on strengths and developing and implementing individual goals.
  • Train center directors as needed and on planned professional development days.
  • Provide coaching to Center Directors when requested or directed.
  • Use data to help Center Directors lead their program and make necessary changes.
  • Work with the Leadership Team to implement a multi-disciplinary team approach to support.
  • Report Center/director concerns to and problem solve with the Assistant Director - Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with HSPS and licensing requirements.
  • Participate and assist in coordinating Orientation and Onboarding efforts and training.
  • Oversee internal transfers of center staff.
  • Collaborates with all Content Managers and serves on the Director’s Leadership Team.
  • Attends workshops and meetings as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor.
  • Attends staff & parent meetings and activities as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor.
  • Responsible for understanding Head Start Performance Standards and local child care licensing regulations.
  • Expected to be knowledgeable of the regulations associated with prevention of occupational disease and injury, including the exercise of universal precautions and the prevention of contamination.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and use positive language.
  • Positively promotes Head Start/Early Head Start in the community.
  • Models and exercises supervisory authority to support other employees in the execution of work duties in a manner consistent with DAEOC standards for compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including DAEOC policies and procedures reflecting best practices.
  • Is expected to model exemplary standards of ethical behavior and exercise careful stewardship of program funds, and support those they coach/supervise in adhering to those standards.
  • Becomes thoroughly familiar with DAEOC Employee Handbook; Human Resources Policies and Procedures; and all other DAEOC agency and program handbooks, manuals and resources.
