About The Position

Help create an amazing learning environment for young children! As a Head Start Assistant Teacher, you'll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners - all while supporting parents to become their child's greatest advocate.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
At least one (1) year of experience working with children ages 3-5.
A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Early Childhood Degree
CPR and First Aid Certification - or ready to get certified.
You know your way around a computer.
You're a team player and can handle tasks on your own like a pro.
Reliable.
Problem-solving and keeping the peace.

You're up to speed on child development - or eager to learn.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Head Start Teacher to plan and most engaging and enriching classroom days ever!
Keep everything running smoothly with accurate and up-to-date record keeping.
Bring fun and creativity to the classroom with health and nutrition activities.
Step in for the Head Start Teacher when needed.
Help out with light janitorial duties when necessary.
Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
Safely monitor the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.
