About The Position

The Legacy Sports Head Sports Coordinator, reporting directly to the Legacy Program Specialist, is responsible for supporting the development and oversight of sports programs across the organization. Under the direction of the Legacy Sports Program Specialist, this role collaborates to design and implement high-quality, inclusive programs that promote youth development and community engagement. The Head Sports Coordinator supports with the day-to-day operations, supports staff, ensures compliance with organizational standards, and fosters partnerships to enhance program impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years in Education/Nonprofit experience
  • Proven experience in program management, with a track record of successful program implementation.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have at least 48 semester college units or successful completion of the Paraeducator exam
  • TB test clearance
  • Must pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Must have experience working with youth and general knowledge base of core elementary subjects.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with staff, students, parents, and community partners

Nice To Haves

  • First aid and CPR Certification preferred
  • Basic knowledge and ability to operate/use: Microsoft software, Office 365, Teams, PowerPoint, Forms, Word, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, designing, and delivering age-appropriate and inclusive sports programs, leagues, tournaments, and clinics that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop engaging activities that reflect community values and partner expectations.
  • Maintain program schedules, ensure equipment availability, and coordinate uniform distribution.
  • Monitor program delivery to ensure alignment with policies and guidelines.
  • Support the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of program staff, including coaches and referees.
  • Conduct team check-ins, providing feedback and guidance to enhance staff performance and program outcomes.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages growth and professional development.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards and best practices in program delivery.
  • Assist in managing program budgets, allocating resources, and overseeing equipment procurement and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff, participants, and program outcomes for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Regularly assess program effectiveness, suggesting and implementing data-driven improvements.
  • Stay informed about youth sports trends to ensure programming innovation and competitiveness.
  • Build and nurture relationships with community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to enhance program visibility and support.
  • Represent the program in meetings, ensuring open communication and addressing stakeholder needs promptly.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and secure sponsorships that support program growth.
  • Act as a key point of contact for community inquiries and feedback, ensuring transparency and trust.
  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, recognizing that the role may evolve to include new tasks introduced by the company.
