About The Position

The Head of Structured Finance is a business and strategic leadership role responsible for shaping GI’s structured finance platform, sourcing third-party capital, and managing key banking and counterparty relationships. The role is strictly non-advisory and does not involve providing investment advice or making, approving, recommending, influencing, participating in, or exercising discretion over investment or transaction decisions for any GI strategy, fund, client account, mandate, vehicle, or transaction. All investment, portfolio management, due diligence, approval, allocation, and transaction decisions are made solely by the applicable GI investment, portfolio management, credit, investment committee, or other authorized decision-making personnel or bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Suggest and help develop new structured finance products and platforms that may be offered to investors, and assess the strength, marketability, and competitive positioning of existing structured finance products from a strategic business perspective.
  • Assess and recommend improvements or changes to the operational processes supporting new and existing structured finance products, including execution workflows, structuring frameworks, and post-closing asset administration.
  • Source innovative third-party capital, manage key banking and counterparty relationships, and align funding activities with broader corporate objectives; interact with new and existing clients and investors to assess demand and raise capital for structured finance products, in each case without providing investment advice or transaction-specific recommendations.
  • Refer potential transactions to the appropriate GI investment, portfolio management, credit, legal, compliance, operations, or other responsible teams for due diligence, evaluation, approval, execution, and investment or transaction decisions. The Head of Structured Finance may provide business, capital-markets, structuring, execution-mechanics, relationship-management, and market-context input, but may not make, approve, recommend, influence, participate in, or exercise discretion over any GI investment or transaction decision.
