About The Position

LiteLLM is an open-source AI gateway that serves as the enterprise control plane for AI traffic, supporting major companies like NASA, Adobe, Netflix, and Stripe. As a YC W23 company that has completed Series A funding, LiteLLM is experiencing rapid growth and seeks a Head of Strategy and Operations to enhance internal company operations. This role is crucial for defining and accelerating the company's internal processes, operating at the intersection of engineering, operations, and go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate will be a high-judgment, hands-on operator capable of both strategic planning and execution. LiteLLM has achieved product-market fit, surpassed $10M in ARR, and is profitable. The company is looking for an experienced, data-driven, and process-oriented individual to establish and refine operational rigor and culture, implementing and enforcing processes essential for scaling an AI startup. This role offers immediate and direct impact.

Requirements

  • Prior leadership experience in Operations or GTM, specifically scaling a tech company from approximately 20 to over 100 employees.
  • Proven experience in building sales and customer success processes and playbooks from scratch or early stages.
  • Experience managing and excelling in recruiting, sales, and customer success functions, with a focus on metrics-based leadership and improvements.
  • Experience in developing processes for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis; ability to manage a finance professional and implement a financial foundation.
  • Strong experience working for an AI startup company, understanding GTM strategy, product launch processes, and timelines.
  • Experience managing an enterprise SaaS business selling to Fortune 500 customers.
  • Must be San Francisco based.
  • Strong background in data modeling, finance, and analytics.
  • Ability to evaluate team load and output using metrics to determine needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce process adherence and work well under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and mediation skills, capable of handling diverse personalities and work styles.
  • Strong project management and delegation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Build sales and customer success playbooks and systems from the ground up, fostering a company culture around them.
  • Enhance sales efficiency, pipeline health, pricing, and revenue forecasting.
  • Define and enforce external SLAs across all communication channels (Slack Connect, email, Zendesk), ensuring every customer interaction has an owner, ETA, and clear next steps.
  • Establish strategic KPIs and performance tracking for all departments to identify resource needs, workload distribution, and performance levels using data.
  • Continuously iterate on operational metrics and plans, taking ownership of challenges and driving improvements.
  • Facilitate alignment between high-level product roadmaps, engineering efforts, and go-to-market execution.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage employees to support long-term growth and scalability.
  • Act as a point of contact for the team and customers, taking action to ensure internal team happiness, professional growth, and external customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the company's financial foundation and processes from inception as the company scales.
