About The Position

This role is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and executing the SEO strategy across enterprise and AI-powered search initiatives. The Head of SEO will lead a large, high-performing team, driving innovation in organic search while optimizing client outcomes and business growth. This position blends technical expertise with people leadership, requiring strategic vision, hands-on SEO experience, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including Sales, Strategy, and executive leadership. You will oversee complex SEO campaigns, develop new service offerings, and stay ahead of emerging trends in AI search and organic discovery. This is a remote-first role with opportunities to influence the long-term direction of the SEO discipline and shape scalable, measurable results across multiple clients and industries.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in technical SEO and content strategy.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing SEO teams.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise SEO campaigns across multiple regions, industries, and client types.
  • Deep knowledge of SEO platforms, measurement tools, content creation processes, and technical implementation across CMS (WordPress, Shopify, Magento, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with SEO analytics, including Google Analytics, Data Studio, Adobe Analytics, and search console platforms.
  • Practical experience with Python, Google Apps Script, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for SEO purposes.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate algorithm changes, emerging technologies, and market trends.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, including experience in cross-functional coordination and client-facing presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a team of 35+ SEO professionals, including direct management of five senior reports, fostering growth, mentorship, and career development.
  • Define and execute holistic, innovative, and AI-driven SEO strategies to maximize client retention, revenue growth, and performance outcomes.
  • Oversee enterprise SEO campaigns, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with broader business objectives across regions and clients.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Strategy teams to develop materials, pitch services, and support business development initiatives.
  • Spearhead development of technology-enabled SEO automation, AI solutions, and workflow optimizations to improve efficiency and results.
  • Establish long-term vision for the SEO department, introduce new services, and keep the organization ahead of changes in algorithms, search technologies, and organic growth trends.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams to track OKRs, execute special projects, and provide thought leadership on emerging SEO and AI trends.
