About The Position

The A220 Commercial Aircraft Program is seeking a Head of Quality Assurance to join our Quality team based in Mirabel, where you will oversee corporate governance, airworthiness, and compliance across our aircraft lines. You will lead the Central Quality Assurance function for all A220 Programmes, actively supporting its diverse global business units. Our team is structured to promote cross-functional collaboration and autonomy, while fostering mutual support, regulatory compliance, and collective learning.

Requirements

  • You hold a university degree in engineering or a related technical field, or you possess significant and highly relevant professional experience within the aerospace quality domain
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in Management
  • You possess strong sector experience in quality assurance management, regulatory compliance (POA / TCCA), and risk management
  • You demonstrate strong high-level leadership skills, fully aligned with the AIRBUS leadership model centered on empowerment, trust, and team accountability
  • You are highly proficient in strategic project management, continuous improvement tools, and change management within transforming environments
  • You are a clear communicator able to interface and influence at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership (Executive Committee, CEO) and international entities
  • You are autonomous, forward-thinking, and exhibit strong decision-making capabilities rooted in fact-driven analysis
  • You have a proven track record in diagnosing, managing, and closing complex regulatory findings, risks, or ambiguous situations
  • You are bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken, which is essential to collaborate effectively across international time zones and locations

Responsibilities

  • Act as Airbus Canada's official POA representative to regulatory authorities (Transport Canada) and lead a disciplined, multi-scope audit program supporting CAR 561, 573, 604, and 521 requirements
  • Develop, manage, and continuously enhance the company's QMS by embedding industry best practices, mentoring process owners, and guiding the transition toward a common Business Management System (BMS)
  • Validate the final end configuration of the aircraft, oversee the issuance of Certificates of Airworthiness for customer deliveries, and manage the authorization of all A220 certifying staff across all assembly sites
  • Manage regular governance and reporting channels with the Executive Committee, CEO, regulatory bodies, and Airbus Commercial counterparts in Europe and the US
  • Mobilize, engage, and upskill a team of 47 quality professionals by implementing trade roles, clear competencies, and mandatory POA training paths
