Lead all the necessary functions and manage resources for the production of commercial vehicles according to schedule, at a quality level that exceeds our customer expectations, and meets the company’s financial goals. Requirements

  • BS/BA +10 years of experience including 4 years of Leadership experience in different plant manufacturing departments
  • Technical and managing skills in the fields of Production, Quality and Logistics
  • Lean Manufacturing concepts knowledge
  • Knowledge of problem solving techniques
  • Negotiations, coaching and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and drive all activities associated with truck production operations, ensuring production demand fulfillment while achieving the highest level of quality.
  • Lead the planning and execution of various production strategies particularly for delivery and quality of all finished vehicles.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and effective problem solving through TOS+ and lean manufacturing principles/tools to improve work processes and establish common targets.
  • Align equipment and installation requirements for different production rates and product mixes, to achieve the Truck Conversion Cost targets (or all related expenses).
  • Simultaneously, maximize the return on investment and profits for the company.
  • Execute decisions regarding production performance improvements according to SQDCME goals.
  • Define the priorities resulting from product changes, analyze difficulties as well as research and introduce solutions for any production change, direct labor or efficiency impact.
  • Establish and implement personnel development programs that promote a safe, diverse, equitable and inclusive environment.
  • Lead and coach all production managers to understand and execute their roles in leading the business, as well as, leading and building people.
  • Communicate relevant information, initiatives and goals to the production managers, track targets and provide continuous performance feedback to the areas.
  • Determine appropriate actions and provide direction to production managers in order to sustain and improve truck quality, warranty and delivery targets.
  • Participate with our customers in different activities inside or outside of the plant in order to promote confidence and loyalty from our truck users.
  • Promote direct customers retrofit and communication, attending conference calls, site visits or any other interaction channel, to get potential improvement opportunity items.
  • Develop “Continuous Improvement” strategies within Production and plant processes; communicate CI initiatives, facilitate the implementation among all departments to create a strong Plant CI/Quality culture.
  • Develop action plans to create and execute the long-term “Envisioned Future”, involving support areas.
  • Define specific plant measurement metrics (SQDCME) and ensure all plant personnel understand and maintain focused on meeting those metrics.
  • Promote Production personnel's education and development on CI topics, to help them with understanding the Vision and long-term strategies.
  • Comply with Daimler Truck Code of Conduct and strict adherence to Integrity Code.
  • Contribute to maintaining quality and environmental ISO and Federal/State certifications.
  • Promote actions to create employee’s work environment aligned to confidence and trust.
