Pattern has been named one of the fastest growing tech companies headquartered in North America by Deloitte and one of best-led companies by Inc. We place employee experience at the center of our business model and have been recognized as one of Newsweek’s Global Most Loved Workplaces®. We’re looking for a Head of Procurement, Ops to own vendor management and sourcing for Pattern’s growing U.S. warehouse network. Our operations network brings products in, prepares them for sale, and ships them into marketplaces on behalf of the brands we partner with — a high-velocity, high-SKU-count fulfillment environment where packaging and supplies consumption scales directly with order volume. As we grow from 4 facilities today toward roughly 10 over the next four years, with weekly volume more than tripling, you’ll own the vendor relationship and spend for consumable packaging supplies directly, while thoughtfully evolving how we source and manage supplies as the network grows — without overbuilding process, tools, or headcount ahead of actual need.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience, including managing indirect/consumables spend and vendor relationships directly
  • Direct experience sourcing packaging or consumable supplies (corrugated, poly, mailers, or similar) strongly preferred; ecommerce, fulfillment, 3PL, or distribution-center experience highly valued
  • Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor — this role is about doing the work of sourcing and vendor management, not managing a large team
  • Demonstrated success negotiating supplier/distributor contracts and managing supplier performance
  • Experience with inventory management or procurement systems (ERP, WMS-adjacent tools, or dedicated procurement platforms)
  • Comfortable working with data to drive decisions — spend analysis, forecasting, cost-per-unit tracking
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Willingness to travel regularly to warehouse sites (30–50%, increasing during new site launches)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience evolving a company’s sourcing model from a distributor-managed approach toward more direct ownership, at a pace matched to actual volume and complexity
  • Experience procuring for a growing multi-site network, in a lean, resource-conscious way
  • Familiarity with ecommerce marketplace fulfillment requirements
  • Experience managing supplier relationships across multiple U.S. regions with varying freight/lead-time dynamics

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end sourcing strategy for consumable packaging supplies (corrugated boxes, poly bags/mailers, bubble wrap, paper void fill, labels/stickers, and adjacent categories), including evaluating our current single-distributor model and recommending the right structure as volume grows
  • Lead supplier and vendor negotiations, RFPs, and contract structuring to secure favorable pricing, service levels, and supply resilience
  • Build a simple, repeatable playbook for standing up supplies procurement at each new warehouse launch, and right-size inventory and reorder logic for facilities of varying sizes
  • Own the supplies spend budget across the network; identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities and track cost-per-unit-shipped as a key efficiency metric
  • Establish spend visibility and reporting by site, category, and supplier
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for our supplies distributor(s) and suppliers, managing performance, service levels, and day-to-day issue resolution
  • Select and/or implement lightweight tools for inventory tracking, demand forecasting, and purchase order management, sized to our current footprint and volume
  • Partner closely with Warehouse/Site Operations, Finance, Real Estate/Facilities, and Sustainability/ESG stakeholders on consumption patterns, budgeting, site launches, and packaging material choices

Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid Holidays
  • Onsite Fitness Center
  • Company Paid Life Insurance
  • Casual Dress Code
  • Competitive Pay
  • Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance
  • 401(k) match. Pattern matches 100% of the first 3% in eligible compensation deferred and 50% of the next 2% in eligible compensation deferred.
