About The Position

The Head of Platform Engineering and Cloud is accountable for building and operating the core platform that underpins all Allvue products and the production environments through which clients experience them. This includes ownership of the platform layer (data, APIs, AI/ML systems, business logic, and agentic workflows), the cloud infrastructure and production environments used to deliver SaaS solutions, and the developer experience and internal platform capabilities that enable engineering velocity.
The role leads multiple teams and functions, driving a cohesive platform strategy that supports high-velocity product development, AI innovation, and mission-critical client delivery in a regulated fintech environment. It requires deep technical expertise, operational rigor, and executive leadership to balance innovation speed with uptime, scalability, and risk management.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to operate at an executive level with ownership of enterprise-scale platform and cloud environments.
• Proven track record of leading multi-layered engineering organizations across multiple functional domains.
• Strong decision-making authority across operations and engineering standards with enterprise impact.
• Demonstrated ability to influence enterprise architecture direction in partnership with Architecture leadership.
• Ability to align technical strategy with business outcomes in a regulated, high-scale environment.
• Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and API architectures.
• Experience with data platforms, pipelines, and governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure and lifecycle management.
• Expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• 12+ years of engineering experience with significant experience in platform engineering.
• 5+ years in senior leadership roles (Director/VP) managing multi-layered teams in a global environment.
• Proven experience building and operating large-scale, cloud-native platforms.
• Experience supporting AI/ML or data-intensive systems in production.
• Experience in fintech, capital markets, or regulated SaaS environments strongly preferred.
• Executive-level written and verbal communication.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Responsibilities

• Define and Lead Platform Strategy: Own and define the vision and roadmap for Allvue’s enterprise platform across data, APIs, AI/ML, and business logic layers supporting all products and client delivery.
• Influence and operationalize platform architecture direction in partnership with Architecture and Engineering leadership to support scalable and reusable enterprise capabilities.
• Institutionalize agentic workflows and AI-driven automation as first-class platform components across product lines.
• Align and drive platform strategy in partnership with Product and Engineering leadership to meet company-wide business priorities.
• Own Cloud and Production Environments: Partner with Architecture leadership on cloud design direction while owning operational execution and delivery of secure, scalable cloud environments.
• Accountable for availability, resilience, and performance across all production systems and client-facing environments.
• Define and enforce SRE practices, including SLAs, SLIs, and error budgets across engineering.
• Own cloud cost strategy and governance, balancing efficiency, scalability, and business investment priorities.
• Oversee enterprise corporate IT infrastructure and internal technology operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable end-user and business system support.
• Enable Engineering Velocity Through Platform Excellence: Own enterprise developer platform capabilities that drive engineering productivity, autonomy, and delivery velocity.
• Establish and enforce standards for CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment pipelines across all engineering teams.
• Ensure organizational capability for high-frequency, low-risk releases across all product lines.
• Drive adoption of self-service platform capabilities to scale engineering effectiveness and reduce operational dependency.
• Lead Data, API, and AI Platform Capabilities: Own the strategy and governance of enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and data management frameworks.
• Operationalize and enforce adoption of enterprise API standards and service frameworks across the platform ecosystem.
• Establish enterprise capability for AI/ML lifecycle management, including model deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Ensure platform readiness and scalability for next-generation AI, data-intensive, and agentic workloads.
• Embed Security, Compliance, and Risk Management: Accountable for ensuring platform and infrastructure compliance with SOC 2, GDPR, and financial regulatory requirements.
• Embed and enforce security, risk, and control frameworks within platform architecture and engineering practices.
• Ensure auditability, data protection, and operational controls across all systems and environments.
• Balance enterprise risk, regulatory requirements, and innovation velocity across platform strategy and execution.
