About The Position

At Pylon, we're building the future of B2B Post Sales with an all-in-one platform powered by conversational data and intelligence. We are backed by prominent investors like a16z, BCV, General Catalyst, and Y Combinator, and trusted by over 1300 companies. We are seeking our first dedicated People leader to own multiple sub-functions including people operations, HR, performance and compensation, recruiting, and culture as we scale. This is a player-coach role, requiring someone who can be a hands-on individual contributor to build the function and processes from the ground up, not just a team builder.

Requirements

  • Been an active player in scaling People operations in a company from 50 to 500 employees.
  • Lived through real performance and employee-relations calls, including PIPs, terminations, and layoffs, and can articulate learnings.
  • Been through challenging situations and performed necessary 'schlep work'.

Nice To Haves

  • Non-traditional background outside of HR that demonstrates an understanding of how to drive a company forward.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and own the vision for the company and be an active voice in pushing the company forward, ensuring People and HR functions enable the company's growth.
  • Own People Operations, including HRIS, equity administration, broker management, immigration counsel, onboarding (30/60/90), offboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance. Determine how to scale the company for the next 10x employees.
  • Own performance and compensation, from foundational elements like comp bands, review cycles, and PIPs, to enabling employees through manager coaching and promotions.
  • Nurture the company culture, acting as a guardian against divergence from core values and embodying principles like 'Sprint the Marathon,' 'Happy Grinder,' 'Product Fluency,' and 'Win as a Team.'
  • Act as Head of Recruiting, maintaining the headcount plan and closing the gap between the plan and actual hiring.
