About The Position

FAR.AI is seeking a Head of People to build the systems, team, and culture necessary to scale the organization from 40 to 75+ employees within the next year, across multiple geographies and entities. This role offers the unique opportunity to establish and lead the people operations function, developing and implementing the processes, systems, and culture to support continued growth. The Head of People will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, and retention. Reporting to the COO, this individual will collaborate closely with the leadership team and department leads to bring structure to people-related matters and cultivate an environment where employees can excel. This position is ideal for an impact-driven leader with a track record of building and scaling People functions in dynamic organizations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in HR or People, with at least 3 years leading a People team or a major sub-function.
  • Proven success in filling difficult technical roles through full-cycle recruiting, utilizing innovative sourcing and employer branding strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience scaling a people function through significant headcount growth, with the organization doubling year-on-year.
  • Hands-on experience owning or substantially building at least three of the following: HRIS implementation, performance management systems, compensation frameworks, hiring infrastructure, or international employment via EOR.
  • Operator mindset with the ability to build systems, processes, and teams, favoring simple solutions and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Strong judgment on sensitive personnel matters, with a commitment to direct, candid, and respectful communication.
  • Natural relationship builder with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and collaborating effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to craft compelling messages that effectively pitch FAR.AI’s mission and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Own and build the People function across people operations and infrastructure, including HRIS, payroll coordination, employee lifecycle management, ATS, immigration, and related systems and policies.
  • Lead talent acquisition end-to-end, encompassing pipeline strategy, sourcing, employer brand, candidate experience, interview design, and offer processes. Partner with hiring managers to define roles and recruit top talent, analyzing recruitment data and market trends.
  • Develop and maintain performance and management systems, including quarterly performance reviews, professional development, and managing underperformance.
  • Oversee compensation and benefits, including developing compensation philosophy, leveling, benchmarking, and benefits administration across different geographies, including EOR.
  • Ensure people compliance across all jurisdictions, adhering to federal and state requirements in the US and other countries where FAR.AI employs staff.
  • Steward culture and employee experience initiatives, including practices, rituals, and feedback processes, to maintain FAR.AI as a high-performance workplace. Coordinate quarterly team events, offsites, team-building activities, and social gatherings.
  • Serve as a People partner to the organization, resolving inquiries and issues with empathy and efficiency, and acting as a trusted advisor to leadership on organizational design, compensation, leveling, succession, and personnel decisions.
  • Hire, develop, and manage the People team as it grows, modeling effective management practices.
