About The Position

As a key member of our team, you will have the chance to make a significant impact as we build and expand our global data center infrastructure. This role involves working with internal teams to establish network improvement plans, driving and influencing senior leadership decision-making, and building effective working relationships with stakeholders. The position requires conducting network design reviews, providing technology leadership, and making key decisions on Network technology. The Head of Network Engineering will also be responsible for communicating budget estimates, managing projects within approved budgets, escalating issues, identifying and mitigating project execution risks, and defining and evangelizing processes, policies, and standards. A significant part of the role includes leading strategic planning, influencing prioritization of initiatives, and developing and communicating a roadmap of projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience with planning and design of customer-facing SaaS production data centers with carrier-grade reliability
• Strong knowledge of Internet routing protocols and techniques such as BGP, OSPF, ECMP, MPLS.
• Expert knowledge and experience with routing protocols and traffic engineering
• Expert knowledge and experience VPN encryption technologies, modern switching platforms, and firewalls including policy implementation and capacity management
• Proven ability to manage mission-critical, highly visible infrastructure projects to completion.
• Experience with low-level infrastructure testing and troubleshooting tools including packet capture devices, network equipment debug and diagnostics, (Wireshark, NetFlow)
• Understanding of security-policy implementation details and how to manage design and support of network environments to maintain policy integrity

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Juniper, Arista, and Cisco equipment highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Responsible for escalating issues and potential roadblocks to management, including making recommendations to address and resolve
• Responsible for identifying and mitigating project execution risks
• Guides and/or revises project plan to ensure it completely captures all activities and eliminates duplicative efforts
• Defines and evangelizes processes, policies and standards across all stakeholders
• Proactively seeks continuous improvement opportunities in process/ policies/ standards
• Responsible for leading strategic planning, influencing and driving prioritization of initiatives with functional stakeholders
• Responsible for developing and communicating a roadmap of projects and initiatives to functional stakeholders
