About The Position

Pylon is seeking a Head of Marketing to lead its positioning, storytelling, and growth initiatives. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for setting product marketing and messaging strategy, driving pipeline generation as a company-level metric, and leading a team covering product marketing, brand, content, events, and performance. The Head of Marketing will collaborate closely with the CEO and leadership team on go-to-market strategy for a rapidly scaling company that has demonstrated product-market fit.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in B2B software marketing, including 2+ years leading a multi-functional marketing team (brand, content, product marketing, or performance).
  • 3+ years in product marketing, with experience in positioning, messaging, competitive strategy, or product launches at a B2B software company.
  • Proven ability to translate complex products into understandable narratives for buyers, reps, and board members.
  • Experience building or scaling a marketing function at a fast-growing startup (Series A-C preferred), including hiring and developing managers or senior individual contributors.
  • Understanding of how positioning and messaging impact pipeline and demand generation.
  • Experience operating at the executive level, communicating performance and strategy to CEOs and boards.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Salesforce, attribution tooling, and funnel reporting.
  • Ability to be hands-on when necessary, contributing directly to launches, positioning, or campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Own product positioning, messaging, and narrative, translating Pylon's functionality into a compelling story for buyers, reps, and the board.
  • Drive product and feature launches end-to-end, including go-to-market planning, sales enablement, competitive intelligence, and tracking impact on pipeline and win rates.
  • Elevate brand and messaging with a focus on pipeline generation, ensuring all initiatives contribute to business goals.
  • Lead and develop a team of six marketing professionals (Product Marketing Manager, Lead Brand Designer, Events Marketer, Content Marketer, two Performance Marketers), enhancing their functional operations and integration with pipeline goals.
  • Build and execute the company's overall marketing strategy in alignment with business and revenue objectives.
  • Set marketing OKRs and report on performance to the executive team and board.
  • Own pipeline generation strategy and be accountable for the pipeline number with the CEO and Sales.
  • Set and manage the multi-channel demand generation strategy, including paid media, events, content, and inbound marketing, focusing on levers that impact pipeline.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations on strategy and with Sales on go-to-market strategy, pipeline, and demand generation to achieve goals.
  • Define and measure marketing ROI and attribution across channels, optimizing spend based on performance.
  • Build and scale the marketing team by identifying gaps, advocating for headcount, and hiring talent.
