About The Position

AI Foundry is an AI building and consulting business working with some of the largest companies in the world. AI Foundry is partnered with a major global company operating across finance, consumer, and retail verticals, leading their AI efforts from the ground up. The team is seeking builders who want to be part of something massive: designing and building multi-agent AI systems that will reshape how hundreds of millions of people interact with financial services, retail, insurance, and consumer products. AI Foundry is looking for a Head of Manufacturing to lead the path from hardware design to scalable production. This person will own manufacturing strategy, supplier and factory readiness, quality systems, production planning, and the operating discipline required to turn prototypes into reliable products. If you have taken hardware products into production and know how to build manufacturing systems that hold up under pressure, we want to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Led manufacturing, operations, or production for hardware products.
  • Understand DFM, DFT, tooling, pilot builds, production ramps, quality systems, and supplier management.
  • Can work closely with engineering and design without treating manufacturing as an afterthought.
  • Know how to diagnose production issues and drive corrective action.
  • Comfortable with cost, schedule, yield, quality, and supplier tradeoffs.
  • Communicate clearly with factories, vendors, engineers, executives, and operators.
  • Detail-oriented without becoming process-heavy for its own sake.
  • Can build systems and teams from scratch.
  • Calm under pressure and practical when plans change.
  • Energized by turning ambitious hardware ideas into real products.

Responsibilities

  • Own manufacturing strategy from prototype builds through pilot production and scaled manufacturing.
  • Define manufacturing requirements, process flows, production plans, quality gates, and factory readiness milestones.
  • Partner with engineering, industrial design, supply chain, vendors, and leadership to ensure designs are manufacturable.
  • Build supplier, contract manufacturer, and factory relationships with clear expectations and accountability.
  • Establish quality systems, test processes, yield tracking, issue escalation, and corrective action workflows.
  • Identify manufacturing risks early and create practical mitigation plans.
  • Lead cost, schedule, tooling, materials, and production tradeoff conversations with data and clarity.
  • Build and lead a manufacturing organization as the business scales.
  • Create the operating cadence and documentation needed to move quickly without losing control of quality.
