About The Position

As a Managing Director in Risk Management, you will be responsible for the implementation of comprehensive risk management frameworks and practices for the organization. You will lead risk professionals aligned to the JPMorgan Advisors (JPMA) distribution channel by identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization's ability to achieve its objectives. You will work closely with senior management in risk, the business in JPMA, and supporting functions to ensure that risk management strategies align with the organization's goals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, risk management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in risk management, finance, or a related field, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience interacting with complex business models with multiple delivery channels.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and lead a risk management framework that includes policies, procedures, and tools for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks
  • Independently review and, as appropriate, challenge the 1st LOD risk management activities and where appropriate, escalate new emerging risks or issues
  • Evaluate and challenge compliance-based independent monitoring and testing of 1st LOD risk management activities and escalate where appropriate
  • Challenge assessments as it relates to Risk Appetite; Assist with development of capital and stress models, where applicable
  • Perform independent review of the Material Risk Inventory
  • Establish risk limits or risk tolerances, where applicable
  • Identify, analyze, measure, and report on risks, including aggregate risks and issues
  • Issue policies, standards, and training to support compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate law, rule, and regulations and implement necessary changes
  • Serve as risk point of contact for regulatory relations including Exam Management
  • Comply with risks own applicable laws, rules, regulations and implement policies and standards established by IRM with respect to its own processes.
