About The Position

This is a greenfield build where you will stand up, centralize, and own Launch Potato's internal IT function. You will decide the operating model the company scales around. The upside is rare: full ownership, direct line to senior leadership, and the chance to design the systems for a 200-person global company. Launch Potato is a profitable digital media company that reaches over 30M+ monthly visitors through brands such as FinanceBuzz, All About Cookies, and OnlyInYourState. As The Discovery and Conversion Company, our mission is to connect consumers with the world’s leading brands through data-driven content and technology. Headquartered in South Florida with a remote-first team spanning over 15 countries, we’ve built a high-growth, high-performance culture where speed, ownership, and measurable impact drive success. You will own the function end to end: Google Workspace, identity and access, employee lifecycle, SaaS, assets, vendors, procurement, budgeting, and compliance support. You will partner directly with the founders and senior leaders and take administrative IT load off their plates. Your recommendations get heard and acted on. You will define the standards, controls, and documentation from the ground up and set the roadmap for systems, vendors, and future staffing. You will help advance our SOC 2 Type II work and build the foundation for future SOX-readiness, shaping how the company governs risk as it grows.

Requirements

  • Experience building or leading Corporate IT, Business Technology, Workplace Technology, or IT Operations inside a startup, scale-up, or similarly fast-moving company where systems and documentation were still being built.
  • Hands-on, company-wide ownership of Google Workspace as an organizational platform: user lifecycle, org structure, admin roles, security controls, audit logs, application access, and third-party integrations. Not end-user support alone.
  • Strong identity and access management: SSO, SAML, SCIM, MFA, role-based access, least privilege, and privileged-access governance.
  • Experience creating scalable processes, controls, policies, and documentation that support SOC 2 Type II, SOX-readiness, or comparable audit requirements.
  • Ownership of vendors, contracts, renewals, licensing, utilization, hardware and software procurement, departmental budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Full-lifecycle device and asset management: procurement, provisioning, inventory, assignment, recovery, replacement, and retirement.
  • The judgment to evaluate integration and automation opportunities across HRIS, identity, Google Workspace, and SaaS.
  • Strong executive communication, project management, prioritization, and the ability to build trust across teams.
  • The ability to operate independently, create structure in ambiguity, and stay close to execution without a large internal team.
  • Background in AdTech, digital media, SaaS, digital publishing, ecommerce, fintech, healthtech, or a broader technology company.

Nice To Haves

  • BambooHR or comparable HRIS administration and integration.
  • Kandji, Intune, or comparable endpoint management.
  • Okta or another identity provider.
  • Google Vault, retention, eDiscovery, DLP, or advanced Workspace security.
  • Direct SOC 2 Type II readiness, remediation, evidence collection, and recurring control operation.
  • SOX, ITGC, pre-IPO, or public-company controls experience.
  • SaaS-management, identity-governance, vendor-management, or license-optimization platforms.
  • Governing company AI tools: access, security, privacy, licensing, utilization, and cost.
  • ITIL certification or practical IT service-management experience.
  • Supporting a distributed workforce across Apple, Windows, and mobile.
  • Interest in eventually hiring and developing an internal IT team while staying close to execution.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on, company-wide ownership of Google Workspace as an organizational platform: user lifecycle, org structure, admin roles, security controls, audit logs, application access, and third-party integrations.
  • End-to-end ownership of onboarding, role changes, and offboarding across the HRIS, Google Workspace, identity platforms, endpoint tools, and core SaaS.
  • Strong identity and access management: SSO, SAML, SCIM, MFA, role-based access, least privilege, and privileged-access governance.
  • Experience creating scalable processes, controls, policies, and documentation that support SOC 2 Type II, SOX-readiness, or comparable audit requirements.
  • Ownership of vendors, contracts, renewals, licensing, utilization, hardware and software procurement, departmental budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Full-lifecycle device and asset management: procurement, provisioning, inventory, assignment, recovery, replacement, and retirement.
  • Evaluate integration and automation opportunities across HRIS, identity, Google Workspace, and SaaS.
  • Strong executive communication, project management, prioritization, and the ability to build trust across teams.
  • Operate independently, create structure in ambiguity, and stay close to execution without a large internal team.
  • Build, centralize, and own Launch Potato's internal IT function.
  • Assess the current environment and establish a scalable operating model across Google Workspace, identity and access, employee lifecycle, SaaS, assets, vendors, procurement, licensing, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance support.
  • Work shoulder to shoulder with HR, Accounting, Security, Engineering, and senior leadership to automate onboarding and offboarding, tighten access governance, strengthen controls, cut unnecessary spend, and create clear accountability across the company's technology environment.
  • Identify risks, make practical recommendations, and drive the implementation yourself.
