Head of Investor Relations & Capital Formation

Illumen Capital•Oakland, CA

About The Position

Illumen Capital is a multi-strategy investment firm investing in direct investments, fund-of-funds investments, and public equities. The firm invests in high-performing venture, growth, and private equity funds and works with managers and founders to apply research-informed strategies and tools addressing bias in investing. Its areas of focus include health and wellness, education, climate and sustainability, and technologies advancing financial and social inclusion. Illumen partners with Stanford SPARQ and Impact Experience and launched a U.S. public equities impact strategy in collaboration with T. Rowe Price. As Illumen Capital scales toward a $1 billion investment platform, the Head of Investor Relations & Capital Formation will lead fundraising strategy, deepen relationships with existing limited partners, and expand the institutional investor base. Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with the investment team and firm leadership, this executive will personally originate and close commitments, communicate Illumen’s research-backed investment approach, and help strengthen the systems and operating cadence needed for sustained growth. This is a full-time, hybrid role based out of Illumen’s Oakland, California office. It requires approximately 50% travel to meet investors and attend conferences, firm events, and industry gatherings.
