About The Position

The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Fire Life Safety to lead fire protection and life safety initiatives across our expanding tunneling and infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and scaling fire life safety systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards, and supporting rapid project growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm systems, system integration, and working with contractors in complex construction environments.

  • Prior experience as a Qualified Individual on a Nevada C-41 (or equivalent) license.
  • Background in transit, tunnel, or large-scale infrastructure fire protection projects.
  • Familiarity with EV battery fire hazards and performance-based fire safety design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of fire life safety strategies across all active and future projects, ensuring systems scale effectively with project growth and operational complexity.
  • Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA codes, local AHJ requirements, and project-specific standards.
  • Interface directly with fire life safety contractors, vendors, and AHJs to manage installation quality, timelines, inspections, and system acceptance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on fire alarm systems, detection, suppression integration, and emergency communication systems, and support troubleshooting and system optimization.

  • Work closely with construction, engineering, and operations teams to integrate fire life safety systems into overall project design and execution.
