About The Position

The Head of Enterprise Digital Assets & Tokenization leads S&P Global's central Digital Assets & Tokenization team, reporting to S&P DJI's Head of Business Acceleration & Special Projects. This senior team has an enterprise mandate to set direction, prioritize firm investments, unblock divisions, and secure external partnerships for digital assets and tokenization initiatives. The team is lean, focusing on agenda setting, funding sponsorship, and driving in-production outcomes rather than acting as a shadow product organization or research function. Divisions are responsible for delivery and revenue, while this team provides strategic guidance and support. The role has two direct reports initially, with potential for growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in capital markets, asset management, financial data and infrastructure, or digital assets, including senior roles with enterprise-wide or firm-building scope.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in digital assets: tokenized products, digital asset funds or indices, onchain infrastructure, or the operational and control build-out required to bring them to market.
  • Proven track record of standing up new businesses, products or functions from zero to production, including vendor, counterparty and partner selection, launch, and the operating processes that sustain them.
  • An established external network across onchain-native firms and traditional financial institutions, and the credibility to open and hold senior relationships from a standing start.
  • Commercial judgment: experience building business cases, structuring partnerships and commercial terms, and making disciplined calls on where to invest and where to walk away.
  • Demonstrated success aligning competing priorities and stakeholder interests across independent business units, and delivering through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Executive-level communication: able to brief senior leadership and external principals with equal clarity, and to challenge as well as partner.
  • Comfort operating within regulatory, legal and compliance constraints, and partnering with control functions to move quickly without creating exposure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience launching regulated, index-linked or benchmark-linked products, or working with ratings, reference data, identifiers or index production.
  • Sufficient technical fluency in blockchain architecture, smart contracts and onchain data to engage engineering teams and partners substantively.
  • Experience building and scaling small teams, and handing capability over to larger organizations.
  • Exposure to board, investment committee or council-level governance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise digital assets and tokenization strategy day-to-day, translating it into a prioritized, funded and sequenced portfolio of initiatives across divisions.
  • Run a single intake for divisional requests and enterprise-originated opportunities, applying screening criteria and stage gates.
  • Co-own and sponsor business cases to secure investment at both enterprise and divisional levels.
  • Maintain a view of market direction in tokenization economics, onchain market structure, and the AI × blockchain intersection to keep the firm's portfolio ahead of client demand.
  • Drive priority initiatives to in-production status with paying customers, augmenting divisional teams.
  • Appoint and hold accountable owners for each opportunity, empowering them to execute and removing obstacles.
  • Build playbooks, trained people, and repeatable processes for divisions to own after handover.
  • Maintain a live enterprise view of initiative milestones, decisions, and dependencies to cut duplication and connect complementary work.
  • Build and hold senior relationships with key institutions in onchain capital markets.
  • Negotiate partnerships where counterparties co-invest, commit to production use, and provide requirements for workflow fit.
  • Shape commercial constructs for onchain distribution, including consumption and per-call economics, licensing terms, and pricing models.
  • Represent S&P Global externally at conferences, standards bodies, working groups, and industry consortia.
  • Convene and run the enterprise governance forum for digital assets, preparing material and framing decisions for senior sponsors.
  • Align divisions, corporate functions, and enterprise leadership behind shared priorities, resolving competing interests and sequencing trade-offs.
  • Keep Legal, Risk, and Compliance informed of all initiatives and run checkpoints before moving from exploration to pilot or commitment.
  • Escalate new opportunities, emerging risks, and stop decisions to the governing council with clear recommendations.
  • Lead and grow a small, high-calibre team, setting a standard of ownership, pace, and evidence-based argument.
  • Work with talent and engineering leadership to build protocol and AI × blockchain capability across the firm.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to divisional and enterprise leaders, providing directness on trade-offs, credibility on technology, and grounding in commercial reality.
  • Operate almost entirely through influence rather than direct authority across a global, matrixed organization.
