About The Position
Flex is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead several Design & Engineering teams. This role involves the design, validation, and implementation of innovative and cost-effective product solutions to meet customer requirements, from conceptual prototypes through full-scale production. The Head of Engineering will work closely with Engineering Leaders, Manufacturing Operations Management, Product Managers, and other functional leaders. The position is located in Henrico, VA, and reports to the Senior Director – Global Engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training
- Minimum of 8 years of management experience
- Proficiency in Autodesk design tools and PDM and PLM
- Experience with electrical and mechanical designs LV switchgear
Nice To Haves
- Master's or MBA degree is preferred
Responsibilities
- Direct and control the activities of broad functional areas through senior Design & Engineering managers involved in designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and systems.
- Partner with other leaders to establish objectives and action plans.
- Ensure the development of Design & Engineering solutions for diversified industry segments covering a wide range of products and volume mixes.
- Ensure budget, schedules, and performance indicators meet corporate guidelines.
- Provide technical and strategic guidance to subordinate directors to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
- Develop and continuously improve people, methods, systems, processes, and metrics in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction.
- Organize and lead reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets, and within quality specifications.
- Partner with Operations leaders to ensure Engineering & Design activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations, including the use of Design for Manufacturability principles.
- Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
