About The Position

Paces is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and scale their engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the CTO and Co-Founder. The Head of Engineering will be responsible for defining the technical vision and execution strategy, ensuring execution excellence by balancing shipping speed and product quality, building and managing a diverse team of Individual Contributors and Team Leads, and nurturing a collaborative, high-velocity engineering culture. The role also involves hands-on coding, system design, and reviewing key pull requests, staying at the cutting edge of AI coding.

Requirements

10+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
3+ years managing and leading multi-team orgs in high-growth startups.
Proven record scaling engineering organization from 0 -> 1 -> N in data intensive, vertical AI companies.
Strong, versatile technical background, experienced with full-stack dev, ETL, AI and distributed systems.
A high degree of comfort digging into systems with deep technology stacks.
Track record building inclusive, high-performance cultures that attract and retain top talent.
