Head of Digital Advisor Strategy

Royal Bank of CanadaMinneapolis, MN
Hybrid

About The Position

The Head of Digital Advisor Strategy is responsible for defining and implementing a cohesive digital experience that supports advisor-led practices and entrepreneurial operating models across RBC. You will be responsible for understanding advisor workflows and business needs, for developing an integrated digital strategy that meets advisors where they are rather than requiring adaptation to disconnected tools, and for identifying technology solutions—including AI applications—that meaningfully enhance advisor productivity and client relationship management. This role will work closely with advisor leadership, technology partners, and business units to assess current capabilities, design solutions aligned to advisor practice models, and oversee the execution of digital transformation initiatives that support practice growth and client outcomes in alignment with RBC's strategic vision.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in wealth management, with tangible, direct experience understanding how advisors and advisor teams operate and grow their practices.
  • Meaningful experience in technology or digital strategy, comfortable shaping and prioritizing a digital product roadmap even if you're not the one building it.
  • Demonstrated success building or improving connected, integrated digital experiences for a distributed user base.
  • Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners without direct authority.
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to build trust with advisors, technologists, and business leaders alike.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with advisor-facing technology platforms, including integrated experience containers, core brokerage and practice management tools and fintechs
  • Familiarity with AI and how it can be integrated into advisor workflows in a way that's practical, not gimmicky.
  • Experience working with or supporting entrepreneurial or independent-minded advisor practices and teams.
  • A bias for solutions that reduce complexity for advisors, even when the underlying work to get there is complex.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Advisor Experience Strategy: Define and drive the vision for a connected, integrated set of digital capabilities that supports advisors across the full scope of how they run their practice.
  • Meet Advisors Where They Are: Design for the reality of entrepreneurial advisor practices and teams, different sizes, different workflows, different levels of digital adoption, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • Integrate AI Thoughtfully: Identify where AI can reduce friction, save advisors time, and improve how they serve clients and champion its integration across the broader advisor toolset rather than as a standalone feature.
  • Break Down Capability Silos: Bring together tools, data, and workflows that currently live in disconnected systems into a single, coherent advisor experience.
  • Partner Across the Business: Work closely with business, technology, data, and operations teams to align advisor-facing priorities with what's technically and operationally achievable.
  • Listen and Translate: Build direct relationships with advisors and advisor teams to understand their real day-to-day needs and translate that insight into a roadmap that resonates with the field.
