About The Position

The Head of Customs and Foreign Trade Americas & Strategy Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance, governance, and strategic alignment of customs and foreign trade operations. The role focuses on managing complex customs requirements, developing expertise and controls, and acting as a business partner to drive strategic customs projects across US, MEX, CAN and BRA while contributing also to the global community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years of progressive responsibility in global trade compliance, customs operations, and import/export processes
  • Strong knowledge of North American trade laws, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) rules, export controls, and current U.S. tariff policies, including the ability to assess and respond to evolving trade regulations.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, data analytics proficiency (ACE reporting, ERP systems), and excellent communication for liaising with government authorities and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team, with responsibility for coaching, performance management, resource planning, and achieving business objectives.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all import/export reporting, customs entries, and claims are submitted accurately and within regulatory timelines.
  • Maintain adherence to CBP in the US and Government Agency regulations across the Americas related countries.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party customs brokers and providers.
  • Audit performance (KPIs), enforce service-level agreements (SLAs), and negotiating contracts.
  • Manage direct HTS classification, valuation, and origin determination management.
  • Leverage FTAs (Free Trade Agreements like USMCA).
  • Support specific preferential and / or mandatory programs (ex: IMMEX, CTPAT…)
  • Drive external & internal process audits, respond to authorities / customs inquiries and perform systemic problem solving.
  • Support and coordinate internal control & risk management systems.
  • Lead strategic customs projects contributing to the region and the global team.
  • Support value chain projects with customs inputs (ex: Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), Bonded Warehouses, etc...) and activities which help the organization to guarantee a continuous value chain flow.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team while driving accountability, resource planning, and achievement of strategic and operational objectives.
