About The Position

Qualitate is building the AI-native primary intelligence platform for enterprises, investment firms, and asset managers. We automate the entire primary research workflow, from study design and expert recruitment through AI-moderated interviews and insight synthesis - replacing weeks of manual research with hours of high-signal output. Expert research is a broken industry dominated by legacy incumbents with expensive, manual, and slow services. Investment and corporate strategy teams spend hundreds of hours coordinating intermediaries, scheduling expert calls, and synthesizing insights across fragmented providers. The process takes weeks to produce short-lived intelligence. Qualitate transforms this workflow by autonomously conducting expert discussions at scale using AI. Qualitate’s AI Moderator interviews thousands of experts simultaneously each month, capturing forward-looking purchasing plans, competitive displacement, and real-time ROI signals. The platform turns these interviews into quantified, time-series outputs tracking over 10,000 public and private companies, queryable instantly in natural language. Our customers include some of the world’s largest enterprises, hedge funds, PE firms, credit investors, and venture capital firms. We’re growing fast, and this is the first dedicated compliance hire at Qualitate.

Requirements

  • At least 4–8 years in compliance or legal operations. You’ve owned or supported the compliance function at an investment bank, investment firm, or technology startup.
  • Knowledge of the financial industry and due diligence. You understand how investment firms, banks, and credit investors think about compliance risk and due diligence, and you know how to meet them where they are.
  • Cross-functional range. You can advise a sales rep on a customer call on Monday and partner with engineers on a controls design on Wednesday.
  • Communication as a craft. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Operator mindset. You think about compliance as a system, not just a set of policies. You build the workflows, controls, and reporting that let the business move faster, not slower.
  • Proactive and self-motivated. You communicate proactively, flag problems early, and don’t need to be managed closely.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience implementing a compliance program at a technology startup serving financial services firms.
  • Compliance experience at an expert network or primary research provider, including expert vetting and MNPI protocols.
  • Experience in the public sector, including at government regulatory bodies such as the SEC.
  • Experience leading client-facing compliance portal overviews and answering due diligence questionnaires from sophisticated investors.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Bonus if you have a law degree.
  • Bonus if you have prior experience working with hedge funds, PE firms, or credit investors as customers or counterparties.
  • Bonus if you have experience designing compliance controls directly into a software product alongside engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance program ownership. Manage Qualitate’s compliance requirements end-to-end and ensure that the company is meeting them across every customer engagement and internal process. Own the Qualitate Trust Portal, our security certifications and audits (e.g., SOC 2), and our data privacy practices — including expert consent and data handling across AI-moderated interviews.
  • Expert vetting and MNPI safeguards. Scale the protocols that govern how experts are screened, engaged, and compensated.
  • Governance and records. Assist with corporate governance and maintain the company’s legal records, policies, and contractual obligations as the source of truth.
  • Customer delivery. Work directly with our customers to ensure we deliver against their compliance expectations, including verbal and written communications with prospective and existing clients.
  • Sales enablement. Provide day-to-day compliance advice to our sales team and deliver training to client-interfacing employees so they can sell and service customers confidently.
  • Controls in our systems. Implement compliance protocols across our internal systems, conduct compliance portal overviews for prospective and existing clients, and collaborate with our product and tech teams to design compliance controls directly into the product.
  • Contracts. Own the contract process: maintain our templates and standard terms, track obligations across client types, flag the redlines that matter, and coordinate with our legal team as the company grows and ships new products.
