About The Position

The Head of Clean Utilities and Sustainability leads the safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of clean utility systems within the approved site asset boundary, including purified water, water-for-injection, clean steam, process gases, and other GMP utility systems. The role owns system performance and state of control, including capacity, compliance, validated state, condition, lifecycle risk, recurring issues, documentation, and improvement priorities, and ensures timely escalation and risk-based interim controls when performance or compliance is challenged. The role leads the site's cross-functional sustainability program and roadmap to deliver applicable Planet Care targets for carbon dioxide emissions, energy, water, waste, and biodiversity. It establishes governance, workstreams, ownership, milestones, performance reviews, and recovery plans, and identifies and delivers conservation and utility-optimization opportunities without compromising product quality, compliance, safety, or resilience. The position manages utility and sustainability budgets, forecasts, service contracts, purchased utilities, and cost controls. It provides people leadership for the Clean Utilities and Sustainability organization and governs contractors, vendors, utilities providers, consultants, and service partners. It also contributes technical requirements to site planning and capital projects, design reviews, changes, commissioning and qualification, turnover, maintenance strategies, metering, documentation, training, and operational readiness. The role maintains inspection-ready utility programs and supports shutdowns, outages, tie-ins, start-up, restoration, emergency conditions, and manufacturing escalations. It defines and reviews performance indicators for utility availability, maintenance, failures, energy and water intensity, greenhouse-gas performance, waste diversion, project delivery, budget adherence, and savings. The position is based in Framingham, Massachusetts.
