About The Position
Sashco is seeking a Head of R&D to join their Leadership Team. This role involves driving innovation, product performance, and team growth within the company, which manufactures caulks, sealants, and wood stains. The ideal candidate will be experienced in polymer chemistry and formulation, capable of adopting new technologies, improving efficiency, and fostering a productive R&D environment. This position requires collaboration with various departments including Marketing, Production, Sales, and Finance to broaden the company's vision. Sashco is a 90-year-old, family-owned company that has recently relocated to a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Thornton, Colorado, and is driven by innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Chemistry or related field
- Ability to provide technical help to R&D staff
- 10+ years of progressive career growth including management of teams.
- Experience functioning on top leadership teams.
- Creativity and valuable networking contacts.

Responsibilities
- Participate on the Leadership Team making company-wide decisions and contributing to long and short ranges plans.
- Develop the strategic plan for the R&D team.
- Lead, inspire, and manage the R&D team.
- Identify new opportunities for growth in technology and channels.
- Measure performance and productivity.
- Provide technical direction and oversight.
- Get on the bench and in the goop yourself!
- Support Sales, Marketing, Production, and Customer Service.
- Increase analytical tools (DOE, AI, etc).
- Leverage the operational budget as an investment aligned with the company plan.
