About The Position

CV Labs is seeking an operator to build and lead the operational backbone of a fast-scaling, AI-native legal practice. This role is responsible for end-to-end business operations, including finance and accounting, HR, systems and tooling, and vendor and contract management. The position will lead a team of four and report directly to the General Manager, with significant autonomy. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in scaling the business's operational systems and driving AI adoption within the practice.

Requirements

Experience designing, building, and running operational or finance/HR processes.
Experience managing a team that executes operational processes.
Understanding of good operational hygiene.

Ability to build structure without slowing the business down.
Fluency in modern ops tooling such as Rippling, Deel, Navan, or similar for HR, payroll, and expense/travel.
Experience moving teams off legacy, paper-based systems onto modern tools.
Active AI user with a point of view on effective AI use.
Curiosity and drive to quickly become proficient in AI.
Comfort with reading contracts, understanding redlines, and identifying problematic terms.
Comfort with spreadsheets and critical analysis of downstream financial and legal implications.
Tolerance for ambiguity and a track record of implementing appropriate structure in undefined environments.
Strong communication skills across all levels.
A builder's instinct to fix gaps rather than just flag them.
High-agency individual who operates proactively.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on finance, accounting, or HR systems experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of four across accounting, IT, and admin.
Set the standard for how the operations function runs and grow the team as the company scales.
Own business operations end to end, including finance and accounting operations, HR, systems and tooling, and vendor and contract management.
Replace tribal knowledge or duct-taped systems with scalable solutions and ensure their adoption.
Modernize the operational stack by swapping legacy, paper-based processes for modern tools (e.g., Rippling, Deel, Stripe, Navan) and automate manual work.
Gain expertise in legal operations systems (e.g., government mail, Command Center, Clio) to identify automation opportunities.
Drive change management, including rollout, training, and follow-through for new processes and tools.
Support high-impact, cross-functional special projects such as pricing analysis, vendor consolidation, GTM efficiency deep dives, and operational model builds.
Partner with teams to identify high-impact AI use cases and roll out tooling and resources for practical, repeatable adoption.
Design and build agentic workflows that become the operational standard for CV Labs.
