About The Position

Propel Schools is seeking a Head Middle School Girls Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season. This role involves leading the middle school girls basketball program, starting this Winter at various Propel Schools including Braddock Hills Middle School, Propel East, Propel Hazelwood, Propel Homestead, Propel McKeesport, Propel Montour Middle School, Propel Northside, and Propel Pitcairn. The coach will be responsible for building a successful program, coordinating with the coaching team and athletic director, and implementing off-season programs. The position requires attendance at PIAA meetings and trainings, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to the Propel Habits. The season runs from January 4th, 2027, to March, with potential for postseason play. A seasonal stipend of $1,750 is offered, prorated for late starts.

Requirements

Prior Middle School, Varsity and/or Junior Varsity Basketball coaching experience
Up-to-date TB Test
Act 34 Criminal Clearance
Act 114 FBI Clearance
Act 151 Child Abuse Clearance
Mandated Reporter Training

Nice To Haves

Experience as a head coach
Playing experience
Demonstrated ability to build a successful program starting at the middle school level
High level of personal organization and planning
Strong communication and relationship building skills

Responsibilities

Responsibility for assembling his/her coaching staff
Experience coordinating a middle school basketball program with the coaching team and/or athletic director
Experience implementing off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations
Willingness and ability to attend all required PIAA preseason coaching meetings and mandatory coaching certification/trainings in compliance with PIAA regulations
Participate in ongoing professional development
Commitment to the Propel Habits
