About The Position

UMW Athletics seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Head Men's Volleyball Coach. The Head Coach will provide leadership for the volleyball program and oversee all aspects of its day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, practice and game preparation, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, academic oversight of student-athletes, fundraising, facility and contest scheduling, budget management, supervision of assistant coaches, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

An expressed interest in collegiate coaching.
Knowledge of competitive volleyball techniques, strategies, rules, and coaching methodologies.
Knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, and compliance requirements applicable to collegiate athletics.
Skill in developing and implementing effective practice plans, training programs, and competitive strategies.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide leadership and strategic direction for a collegiate men’s volleyball program.
Ability to foster a positive team culture that promotes leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and student-athlete well-being.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Athletics staff, University departments, prospective student-athletes, families, alumni, and other stakeholders.
Ability to represent the University and Athletics Department professionally and support institutional and departmental goals.
Experience as a coach, student assistant or student-athlete.
Experience planning and conducting practices, providing technical instruction, and supporting the development of student-athletes.

Previous experience supervising or providing leadership to coaching staff.
