About The Position

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a highly energetic and ambitious Head Coach for the Men's Golf program to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by providing leadership, mentorship, and instruction that fosters student-athlete development, academic success, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence. This is a part-time position reporting to the Athletic Director. The Head Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the Men's Golf program, including recruiting, coaching, student-athlete development, program administration, and representing Marian University with professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Responsible for recruiting qualified student athletes for college enrollment and participation in the men’s golf program; coordinates athletic scholarships through the Financial Aid Office.
  • Responsible for monitoring the academic performance of student athletes in men’s golf.
  • Consults with the Athletic Director regarding the scheduling of the men’s golf matches.
  • Responsible for establishing practice sites and conditions for men’s golf.
  • Reports results of golf matches in a timely manner to the Sports Information Director.
  • Reports statistical information to the NAIA national offices.
  • Responsible for purchasing equipment and golf paraphernalia yearly and filing report to the Athletic Director.
  • Consults with the Athletic Director in developing an operational budget and makes operational decisions based on staying within the established budget for men’s golf.
  • Coordinates any treatment for men’s golfers with the athletic training staff.
  • Work hours necessary to perform job requirements satisfactorily on a regular basis.
  • Manage absence from work in responsible manner to ensure service to clients, work teams, and coworkers.
  • Comply with Marian University policies and practices and seeking clarification of them when necessary.
