About The Position

The Head Lifeguard position is responsible for the safety of all guests in and near the pool area and providing direction to lifeguards on shift to maintain safety wellness of guests and Team Members alike. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification
  • Experience in customer service, leadership, and team building

Responsibilities

  • Enforcing all pool rules
  • Preventing injuries and minimizing hazardous situations
  • Providing patron surveillance whenever a patron is swimming
  • Provides effective leadership and direction to lifeguards
  • Ensures lifeguard staffing, coverage and job duties are compliant with all required standards & regulations
  • Instruct various ages in, water safety, and other aquatic programming
  • Assign cleaning duties
  • Attending in-service training as scheduled
  • Assists with conducting aquatics safety audits and reporting
  • Assists with executing birthday parties and private events
  • Assist the aquatics manager in training, supervising, and evaluating Lifeguards
  • Create weekly work and station rotation schedules for Aquatics Team Members
  • Supervises the daily cleaning and maintenance of all aquatic areas
  • Help train and evaluate the swim lesson instructors
  • Help train and evaluate water aerobics instructors
  • Supervise chlorine/ PH levels for the pools (make sure chemicals meet the Health Department and manufacturer standards)
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Completing other duties as assigned
