About The Position

As Head Golf Professional at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, you'll be the steady hand behind the golf shop and outside services operation that welcomes golfers from around the world. You'll lead the team that greets every guest, books every tee time, and outfits every round, while shaping the programs, events, and service standards that define what it means to play golf here. It's a role built for someone who loves the game, loves leading people, and takes real pride in running a tight, guest-first operation. Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes' six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses, which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States, according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to an award-winning par-3 course, Bandon Preserve. A second par-3 course, Shorty's, will open in 2024. The two short courses are 'Courses with a Mission,' with all net proceeds funding the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation. The Foundation supports communities along the South Coast of Oregon. Ability to coach golf shop staff, guest services, and starter/ranger teams.
Skills in merchandising, purchasing, and inventory management.
Experience in budget management and financial monitoring.
Ability to plan and lead golf programs and events.
Experience with opening, closing, and securing operational areas.
Familiarity with handicapping systems and driving range organization.

Responsibilities

Lead the golf shop and outside services team, including planning schedules, setting guest service tone, and coaching staff.
Manage the entire guest experience from the initial phone call, including booking tee times and handling inquiries.
Oversee golf shop merchandising, purchasing, inventory, and sales programs.
Assist in building and tracking operating and capital budgets, monitoring cash handling, and financial performance.
Plan and lead individual and group lessons, clinics, and tournaments, and schedule outings with outside groups.
Manage behind-the-scenes operations such as opening/closing procedures, handicapping systems, and driving range organization.
