About The Position

Deer River High School is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to lead our golf program as the Head Golf Coach. This seasonal position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive golf program that promotes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship among student-athletes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of the game of golf, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for high school students.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and regulations.
• A passion for teaching and developing young athletes in a supportive and competitive environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a structured practice schedule and training regimen for the golf team.
• Conduct individual and team practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and sportsmanship.
• Foster a positive team culture that encourages participation, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes.
• Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, expectations, and any relevant updates.
• Monitor student-athlete academic performance and ensure compliance with school and district policies.
• Evaluate and assess the performance of individual players and the team as a whole, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and competitions.
