About The Position

The Girls Head Lacrosse Coach is a seasonal, part-time position responsible for leading the SHC girls lacrosse team and overseeing the girls lacrosse program. The Head Coach plays a vital role in fostering character development, athletic excellence, and a culture of discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. This position emphasizes not only skill development but also the holistic growth of student-athletes as individuals and members of the school community.

Requirements

  • Must be a mission-driven individual with a deep passion player and team development
  • Playing experience and/or knowledge of the sport is required.
  • Candidates must be available during after-school hours (2:00-7:00pm) and on Saturdays.
  • Off-season meetings and duties are also required.
  • Candidates must clear fingerprinting background checks and complete required training and certifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications, Google/Gmail and internet usage.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous high school or college coaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support SHC’s mission and values: Uphold the mission and policies of SHC and embody the core values of the Daughters of Charity and De La Salle Christian Brothers.
  • Program leadership: Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the SHC girls lacrosse program, ensuring alignment with school standards and goals.
  • Sportsmanship and conduct: Model exemplary sportsmanship and maintain professional conduct toward opposing teams, officials, parents, fans, and the broader community.
  • Staff collaboration: Work closely with the Athletic Director(s) to recruit, hire, and mentor qualified assistant coaches.
  • Athletic development: Demonstrate and teach advanced skill sets, techniques, and strategies necessary for individual and team success.
  • Compliance and eligibility: Clearly communicate and enforce team rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements for student-athletes.
  • Regular consultation: Maintain ongoing communication with the Athletic Director(s) to ensure program alignment and effectiveness.
  • Community engagement: Participate in all required meetings with coaches, student-athletes, and parents as scheduled by the Athletic Directors.
  • Safe learning environment: Create and sustain an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Interpersonal excellence: Exhibit strong interpersonal and leadership skills in interactions with students, staff, and families.
  • Health and safety: Collaborate with school athletic trainers to report injuries, teach safety precautions, and implement injury-prevention strategies.
  • Performance support: Partner with the Athletic Performance Director and Mental Performance Coach to enhance student-athlete development.
  • Administrative responsibilities: Complete required forms, schedules, rosters, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned: Perform additional responsibilities as directed to support the success of the Flag football program and SHC athletics.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $22.50 per hour (up to $10,000 total per season)
