About The Position

The Head Custodian position is located at Delta High School in Pasco, Washington. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, on a 207-day calendar. Applicants are limited to current Pasco School District employees and current district substitutes. New hires are conditional upon passing fingerprint screening.

The posting describes general responsibilities for a Day Custodian/Groundsworker, including custodial and routine tasks necessary to prepare, maintain, and repair grounds and fields. Areas of responsibility include the stadium field house, concession stand, radio booth, bleacher areas, restrooms, entrances, driveways, walks, parking lots, breezeways, and adjoining grounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 months of experience as a custodian.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work unsupervised and carry out directions as required.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60 pounds unassisted.
• Physical ability to squat, bend, stoop, carry, lift, climb ladders, and perform other repetitive, demanding functions.
• Ability to work from ladders of all heights, scissor lifts, and Geni Lifts.
• Ability and willingness to function as part of a departmental team.
• Demonstrated exemplary customer service and responsiveness, including exceptional service to students and staff.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with staff, students, and parents.
• Demonstrated punctuality and a good work attendance record.
• Ability to follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative working relationships.
• Must respect the confidentiality of district records and matters.
• Must pass fingerprint screening as a condition of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish.
• Experience scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing hard floors.
• Experience in restorative carpet care.
• Experience caring for custodial equipment.

Responsibilities
