About The Position
Ardent Preschool and Daycare is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Head Cook to support daily meal preparation in its preschool kitchen. This is a support position in a childcare setting, not a restaurant or chef role. Under the direction of the Preschool Assistant Director, the Head Cook prepares, portions, and serves meals and snacks for young children while maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. The role follows established menus and food safety guidelines and includes ordering, receiving, and storing food deliveries from Sysco.
Requirements
- Must pass a background check.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kitchen or food preparation experience is preferred.
- ServSafe certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain it.
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks.
- Portion and distribute meals to classrooms.
- Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
- Follow established menus and food safety guidelines.
- Order, receive, and store food deliveries from Sysco.
- Follow state and USDA food safety requirements.
