About The Position

D1 Training Wake Forest is seeking a high-level Head Coach to lead the training floor, develop coaches, and drive member results inside our brand new facility. This is a coach of coaches leadership position responsible for delivering elite training, building a strong coaching staff, and ensuring a best-in-class experience for athletes ages 7 through adult. The ideal candidate combines training expertise, leadership presence, and operational discipline. They are equally comfortable coaching sessions, mentoring staff, and owning key performance metrics tied to retention, utilization, and revenue. The role involves delivering high-energy group and personal training sessions, serving as the face of the training experience, and ensuring every session meets D1's 5-star standard. Leadership responsibilities include hiring, onboarding, and developing a team of coaches, leading ongoing education and performance feedback, and building a deep bench of talent. The Head Coach will execute D1 programming with precision, maintain class quality and structure, and ensure alignment on delivery standards and methodology. Additionally, the role involves owning member retention through proactive check-ins and structured onboarding, maintaining facility cleanliness and organization, and supporting community outreach, local partnerships, and lead generation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in strength and conditioning, group training, or sports performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Organized and disciplined.
  • Holds self to a high standard.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, early-morning, community-driven environment.
  • Genuinely invested in the people around them.
  • CSCS, CPT, USAW, NSCA-CPT, NASM-CPT, ACE-CPT, IYCA, NASM-PES, NSCA-CSCS, CPR/AED certification, or equivalent certifications.
  • Prior experience mentoring coaches or leading teams.

  • Experience with youth athletes ages 7-18.
