About The Position

The Head Coach for Freshman Baseball interacts directly with coaches, parents, and student-athletes as a representative of Christian Academy. The coach is expected to live and coach in a way that leads student-athletes toward righteousness in every area of life, particularly in their athletic development. The role includes coaching from a biblical perspective, supporting the school’s mission and athletic philosophy, and developing athletes both spiritually and athletically.

Requirements

Strong, clear Christian testimony and a mature, godly spirit.
Daily example of the highest Christian virtue, both in and out of school.
Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs agree with the Statement of Faith.
Strong commitment to Christian Academy’s mission statement and athletic philosophy.
Ability to encourage partnerships with parents, coaches, students, and other schools.
Managerial and coaching experience.

Responsibilities

Coach from a biblical perspective and strive to be a true reflection of Jesus Christ to athletes.
Create a positive, encouraging team environment and build strong relationships with those under the coach’s leadership.
Teach athletes sound and safe fundamental techniques of baseball throughout the season.
Promote honesty, integrity, humility, loyalty, unity, and the overall character development of athletes.
Encourage the success of other programs, collaborate with students, parents, and staff, and help balance students’ commitments to academics, athletics, and the arts.
Establish team rules and communicate pre-approved rules to the team at the beginning of the season, including expectations for attendance, punctuality, and care of uniforms and equipment.
Maintain a physical presence when responsible for supervising the gym or field.
Communicate practice expectations through a preseason meeting and/or informational letter.
Recruit and hire competent, professional assistant coaches.
Monitor Christian Academy’s compliance with KHSAA rules and regulations.
Operate within the sport’s annual budget and spending plan.
Supervise the sport program’s coaching staff at all levels and ensure athletes and coaches are growing spiritually.
