The Head Coach is responsible for the administration and organization of a successful athletic program that competes in the Centennial Conference at the NCAA Division III level. The role involves preparing and organizing practices, travel, and game preparation, as well as off-season training. The coach is responsible for recruiting prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, Centennial Conference, and Ursinus College policies. This position also involves hiring, directing, and mentoring coaching staff, providing general advising and mentoring to student-athletes to ensure their academic progress and eligibility, and managing the allocated budget. Additionally, the Head Coach will coordinate fundraising activities and alumni engagement, consult with athletic training personnel for risk management and safety, and work with the Compliance Officer to adhere to NCAA rules. The goal is to field a competitive team while upholding ethical decision-making, outstanding sportsmanship, and representing Athletics professionally. Additional sport-specific duties related to student-athlete and facility safety are also included. All responsibilities are to be executed with a commitment to the excellence, integrity, and success of the softball program, the Department of Athletics, and Ursinus College.
