About The Position

This is a seasonal, part-time, temporary position with a strong emphasis on the recruitment of academically qualified student athletes, while also entertaining other responsibilities and functions. The Head Coach will coach/train/teach the sport of Women’s Flag Football to members of the Women’s Flag Football team at Gwynedd Mercy University. Responsibilities include all aspects of coaching, planning, directing, developing and managing a successful program, including conditioning, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, travel, equipment, budget management, fundraising, and monitoring academic progress of student-athletes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of three years of collegiate coaching experience or related experience required
  • Proficiency with the personal computer
  • Effective written and verbal communication is essential
  • Ability to articulate athletic policies and procedures
  • Ability to respond to and deal with varied constituencies
  • Ability to develop budgetary, demographic and other reports that may require mathematical computations
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to gather, organize, interpret and present information for reports
  • Ability to respond to crisis and emergencies
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interact with students on a one-to-one basis as well as in groups
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this position

Responsibilities

  • Coach/train/teach the sport of Women’s Flag Football to members of the Women’s Flag Football team at Gwynedd Mercy University
  • All aspects (in traditional and non-traditional seasons) of coaching, planning, directing, developing and managing a successful program – conditioning, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, travel, equipment, budget management, fundraising, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, Atlantic East Conference / United East Conference and university policies and procedures
  • Meet recruiting goals as established by the Director of Athletics
  • Maintain certification for CPR/AED and First Aid
  • Monitor budget and fundraising account
  • Attend department staff meetings and university functions
  • Represent university at conference coach’s meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
