The Intercollegiate Athletics Coach, Women’s Basketball reviews college and division policy and procedure manuals and strives to develop his/her program by following the policies established for preparing budgets, acquisition and control of equipment and materials, planning, improvement of facilities, upgrading his/her seasonal schedule, filing of eligibility forms making necessary arrangements for travel to away contests, and set up for home contests, completing a yearly inventory of equipment, and issuance of practice and game uniforms. This position assists the Director of Athletics in the promotion of his/her programs; assists players in developing a high level of skill and physical fitness; and recruits students/athletes for Pensacola State College on a local, state and regional level. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.

Requirements

Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a bachelor’s degree.
Three years full-time experience in the organization, management and coaching of the sport.
A valid driver’s license.
Successful results of a criminal background check.
Must meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations.
Must not fail to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application.

Responsibilities

Reviews college and division policy and procedure manuals.
Develops program by following established policies for preparing budgets, acquisition and control of equipment and materials, planning, improvement of facilities, upgrading seasonal schedule, filing eligibility forms, making travel arrangements for away contests, and set up for home contests.
Completes a yearly inventory of equipment.
Issues practice and game uniforms.
Assists the Director of Athletics in the promotion of programs.
Assists players in developing a high level of skill and physical fitness.
Recruits students/athletes for Pensacola State College on a local, state and regional level.
Possesses knowledge of college admissions process including scholarships/financial aid.
Meets physical fitness demands involved with coaching strategies including illustrating plays/moves involved with women’s basketball.
Addresses individuals – including parents, students, instructors, opposing teams/players - both verbally and in writing.
May make presentations to individuals and/or groups.
Exercises conflict resolution.
Provides initial treatment for cuts, wounds, bruises.
